At In Our Nature, we’re on a mission to redefine the way we think about fashion and sustainability.

We believe in giving clothing a second chance — rescuing timeless goods from waste and making them accessible to conscious consumers like you. By doing so, we’re reducing the environmental impact of fast fashion and fostering a community that values mindful consumption.

But our vision doesn’t stop there — every purchase supports initiatives to educate and inspire sustainable living. From hosting pop-up events with local vendors to building a collective focused on shared goals, we aim to create a space where community and sustainability thrive together.

As a first-time mother, I’ve found myself more inspired than ever to create something meaningful for both my family and my local community.

Large corporations have contributed to environmental damage while manipulating our sense of value, pushing the idea that “new is better" and that pre-owned goods are disposable, despite their history, craftsmanship, and longevity. Choosing secondhand is a meaningful act of respect for both the Earth and its people. By supporting local businesses and practicing conscious consumption, we reduce waste, reclaim shared responsibility, sustain livelihoods, preserve culture and craftsmanship, and foster meaningful connections with our neighbors - helping rebuild a more resilient and intentional way of living that is rooted in care, sustainability, and collective growth.

Together, we can return to the strength of community living - where people support one another, invest locally, and recognize the value of connection over convenience.

At its core, In Our Nature is about more than clothing - it’s about building a collective space where sustainability, creativity, and community come together. A portion of every sale goes back into this mission, helping transform the shop into a center for education, collaboration, and positive change. My long term vision includes supporting local craftspeople and small business owners alike, hosting community events that inspire others to connect with their neighbors across the country.

Sourcing materials and producing clothing are the most polluting parts of a fashion supply chain (especially in fast fashion). Buying secondhand clothing bypasses the heavily-polluted production stage.

Up to 100 billion garments are produced by the fashion industry every year. And each year, as much as 92 million tons of clothing ends up in landfills. (Source: earth.org)

Studies show that the fashion industry is responsible for 8-10% of ALL carbon emissions, so buying pre-loved clothing is beneficial not only for your wallet, but for the planet too!

Depending on what materials they’re made of, they can even take centuries to decompose, so buying second-hand clothing prolongs the lifespan of these garments and keeps perfectly good clothing out of landfills and beaches!
